Ex-Hearts of Oak midfielder Joe Tagoe claims superstition counts in a Super Clash between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
The title holders of the GPL will host Asante Kotoko on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium in a week seven outstanding game of the local league.
Superstitious Ghana players are believed to be handing fortunes to witchdoctors in a bid to shine or secure a win in a Super Clash.
“In a Super Clash, people come with different things because you will see handkerchiefs and other things on Sunday. Tagoe told Otegha MoreFans in an interview on Tru FM in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
“Whether you are a pastor or whatever, once you play for Kotoko or Hearts in a Super Clash you would force to have some juju into the game. It doesn’t matter whether you are a pastor and doubles as a player.”
Sitting at the 8th position, Hearts of Oak are 12 points adrift from the league leaders Asante Kotoko who sit at the top with 36 points.
