Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the 2023 African Games has stated that the Ghanaian government should make football a national policy to revive the local league.
The quality of the Ghanaian premier league is being challenged by poor playing pitches, player welfare issues, officiating among others.
Dr. Ofosu Asare believes making football a national policy will help revive the Ghana league.
“If we want to revive our local league then the state has a role to play. They must support the course to help Ghana Football, they must make football policies a national one.” He divulged on Saving Our Passion show on GTV Sports+ last night.
On Sunday, Hearts of Oak will host Asante Kotoko in a Super Clash encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts are 12 points adrift from their sworn rivals who are leading the league table with 36 points after 16 games.
