Member of the Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has personally responded to calls from some sections of the fans of the club for the head of the head coach Samuel Boadu, after a run of inconsistency in the performance of the team in the first half of the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL).
Samuel Boadu guided Accra Hearts of Oak to win a treble last season, winning the GPL title, the MTN FA Cup as well as the Super Cup. In sharp contrast, the Phobians have been struggling to win matches this season, and the chances of defending their title are hands by a thread as they trail rivals Asante Kotoko by 12 points with 17 matches to end the campaign.
Some fans of the club are unhappy with the performance of the team so far this season and have been calling for the coach to be replaced. Coach Samuel Boadu, who has had impressive records against Asante Kotoko, guided Hearts of Oak to face red hot form Asante Kotoko to a goalless draw in their first meeting in the league this season last Sunday, and the result of that game, though not what the fans desired, seems to have brought some kind of stability to the team.
In a brief interactions, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe was quizzed on his opinion on the calls by the fans and what he thinks as a Board Member of the club on the future of the coach, and the former GFA Boss’s response suggests dissatisfaction with coach Boadu’s output this campaign.
“I believe strongly the coach at the moment has watched a lot of the pitfalls as far as his style of teaching is concerned, and I believe strongly too he will work on it”, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe told BSPORTS TV in a short interview after the Super Clash.
“The coming season, when I say season, the coming second round [of the league] is what will let us know exactly the level of his coaching”, he concluded.
