Accra Hearts of Oak Board Member, and a former President of the GFA, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has defended his recommendation that Kumasi based- giants Asante Kotoko coach Dr. Prosper Narteh-Ogum be appointed as the head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana.
The former GFA boss in an interview with GTV sports + on saving our Passion recommended that Prosper Ogum Nerteh be appointed as Black Stars coach if Ghana wants to go places. His recommendation didn’t go down well for some football fans and some sports pundits who think he shouldn’t be recommended a coach from a different club especially a rivalry club to the Black Stars of Ghana whilst he is a board member of Hearts Of oak but Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe thinks otherwise.
Ex-GFA boss speaking earlier this month(February) on Saving our Passion with GTV Sports+, he stated: “I will suggest that we pick a local coach in the person of Dr Prosper Ogum, the trainer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko now”.
“I have studied that man carefully and he’s brought a lot of life into Kotoko, and if we want really to get somewhere we should give that gentleman the power and I can tell you that he will give us a team we shall be surprised of”. Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe has responded to those who think he shouldn’t have recommended Asante Kotoko head coach to lead the Black Stars because he is a member of Accra Hearts Of Oak.
“Those who believe that they don’t know me, I criticize within my own house, what is right is what I advocate for, now if you are going to pick a coach from within Ghana then I believe strongly is that coach”. That doesn’t mean I am a Hearts of oak director so I can’t talk? I watched his style of teaching and I noticed that is what the Black Stars will need”. he confirmed.
‘ If I am going to have a stopgap coach then I think he is the right man for Black Stars job” he told BSSPORTS. No, it’s not endangerment for him(Samuel Boadu), Look, my policy in life is to speak openly and I have criticized the head of state in this country so how more about the coach? He question.
