Referees chairperson for the GFA’s Referees Appointment Committee, Christine Enyonam Zigah has rated the GPL referees 85 percent after the first round of the league.
Despite the suspension and demotion of some match officials, Madam Enyonam is impressed with the performance so far.
The chairperson sharing her thought on the performance of referees after the first round of the domestic top-flight league insists the referees have not gone badly despite complaints from some clubs.
“The referees are doing well. We are all seeing what is happening though some people couldn’t keep up with the face so they’ve been suspended but the rest are doing well. She stated.
“I will rate them 85 percent and we are praying that they will keep it up and do it the way they started the first round.
“I am praying that they will top up so that we will have a very good season. The fans are always ready to go to the stadium when the referees perform well but if they are not performing then there will be a lot of complaints so we are praying that this second round will be much better than the first round.” She told Adinkafo FM in Berekum West.
After sharing her thought on the performance of match officials she also urged them to uphold their high standards.
