The 2021/2022 season of the Ghana FA Cup competition Round of 16 draw is set to be held soon after the Ghana Premier League (GPL) Match Week 18 fixtures which will be played over the weekend, with all clubs who made it into the last 16 knowing their opponents for the next round.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed in its publication on Saturday, that the Round of 16 draw of the MTN sponsored FA Cup will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the GFA Conference hall at 11:00am local time.
The FA has grouped all the qualified teams into groups of two, comprising of two zones – Northern and Southern taking into consideration the geographical locations of the teams involved so as “to avoid long distance trips for matches and to have more local derbies”.
The 16 teams comprise 9 premier league clubs which advanced from the Round of 32 stage, and these teams would be joined by the other seven clubs from the first and second divisions of the Ghana football hierarchy, set for the draw on Tuesday.
