Samuel Boadu, the head coach of Hearts of Oak has claimed that their 1-1 stalemate with Legon Cities in week 18 clash was caused by an elementary mistake.
The 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title holders are yet to record a win after four games in the ongoing 2021/22 campaign.
The Phobians were held at home by Legon Cities in their season opener at the Accra Sports Stadium and failed to snatch a victory in the return leg held today at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.
However, in their matchday 7 outstanding fixture against Kotoko, the Phobians were held to a goaless draw on Sunday.
Hearts were hoping to secure a 1-0 victory over their city rivals today with Isaac Mensah’s strike but the The Royals fought back to get a last minute equalizer courtesy Osman Amadu.
With the team having just three points out of four games, Boadu believes things will turn around in their upcoming fixtures.
“It’s a very painful draw because we taught that we have done with it but we couldn’t with just a few minutes left. Always they need to compose and then mental toughness.
“Is very bad. Honestly, this is not what we want but this is football. We always take focus and always concentrate till the end of the game. If you lose little concentration you will be punished. That’s what happened to us but going forward we believe that things will turn around. Is an elementary mistake. We have to go home and correct it.” Boadu stated.
Hearts of Oak will play Asante Kotoko for the second time this season at the Accra Sports Stadium next week in a President Cup organized by GHALCA before their week 19 GPL game against WAFA at home.
