Kumasi Asante Kotoko gathered late two goals from Cameroonian striker, Franck Etouga Mbella to thrash Dreams FC in their week 18 action at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
It took the the Reds 72 minutes before breaking the deadlock following a penalty converted by the Cameroonian knack attacker and had the second goal at the 82nd minute to put the home side on a comfortable lead.
Etouga scored hat-trick against Accra Lions in week 17 of the Ghana Premier League but he couldn’t find his scoring boot when they were held to a goaless stalemate with their sworn-rivals Hearts of Oak in Accra last weekend in a matchday 7 outstanding fixture.
The top scorer of the ongoing Ghana Premier League amazingly extended his scoring streak with a magical performance against the visitors despite not getting many opportunities.
The former-WAFA boss, Ogum who has tasted just two defeats out of 18 games with his current side insists Etouga did not get the needed supplies in today’s game especially in the first half but with his effort and energetic performance he was able to make the headline of the clash.
After the two goals triumph, the Porcupines’ trainer divulged; “I think in the first half he was not getting the needed supplies even in the second half the supplies did not really come. I mean typical of a good marks man he just had one opening and he was able to create that penalty and he was able to score too so I think in the first half the supplies were not going to him and even the chances where not going to him at the right time and at the right place, and it gave Dreams the opportunity to clear their lines and cover quickly.”
Etouga is currently leading the scoring chat with 13 goals in the ongoing 2021/22 GPL season.
