• After this weekend’s GPL fixtures, 18 goals were recorded from 8 games.

The second round of the ongoing Ghana Premier League was opened with King Faisal snatching 2-1 away from Sogakope over WAFA on Friday afternoon.

Konadu Yiadom had the consolation for the academy boys as Osman Ibrahim and Mawuli Wayo scored to hand the away side a vital points.

On Saturday, the Accra derby between Legon Cities and Hearts of Oak held at the El-Wak Sports Stadium ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

Isaac Mensah scored an early opener for the Rainbows but Osman Amadu stunned the visitors with a late goal to restore parity.

The draw leaves Phobia at the 7th position with 26 points meanwhile Legon Cities are sitting at the 11th position with 22points.

On Sunday, Asante Kotoko gathered a two goals late win over Dreams FC courtesy Franck Etouga to extend their lead on the league log to 40points.

Ogum’s side snatched the victory through the 72nd minute and 82nd minute strike from the leading top scorer of the league.

In Dormaa, Aduana Football Club also thrashed Karela United by 2-0 scoreline through Bright Agyei’s brace after scoring on the 5th minute and the 17th minute.

Aduana Stars are thrilling the league leaders, Kotoko with ten points after today’s victory at home.

On other hand, the shocking result came from Obuasi as Eleven Wonders travelled all the way from Techiman to defeat Ashanti Gold SC by 4-1.

Rashid Tetteh scored the opening goal for the visitors at the 32nd minute but Ali Mohammed netted to level the game during the second half.

Ten minutes after the equalizer, Osman Zackaria restored the lead for the visitors with Andrews Kumah and Laar Ibrahim scoring to cement the victory.

Despite the victory, Eleven Wonders are still placed at the 16th position in the relegation zone of the table but the home side are also found on the 12th position with 22points.

At the backyard of Berekum Chelsea, Owusu Osei scored the only to hand them a great victory over debutants, Bibiani Gold Stars.

Accra Lions also claimed an away stalemate with Elmina Sharks after two goals coming out from the game in between the interval of two minutes.

Ishmael Antwi scored 85th minute goal to secure the lead for the visitors but the home side equalized through Osuman Kassim’s goal at the 87th minute.

Elsewhere, the Mauve and Yellow boys Medeama SC rally to claim a last minute victory over the runner-up Bechem United courtesy Vincent Atingah on the 90+6th additional time of the throttle.

The last fixture of the matchday 18 in the GPL will come up on Monday afternoon where Great Olympics lines up against RTU in Accra.
