• Cameroonian striker, Frank Etouga Mbella struck a brace for Asante on their week 18 fixture a home against Dreams FC.
Angry GPL fan has hit out at the 71st-minute penalty rewarded to the Porcupines after Mbella was pushed down by the goalkeeper of the away side, suggesting that it was a dubious decision.
Referee Mohammed Misbau awarded what had been described as a controversial penalty against Dreams FC which aided the league leader Asante Kotoko to take the lead before getting the second goal to pip the visitors.
The penalty decision prompted an angry reaction from the fan, becoming disillusioned by the performance of referee Misbau.
Reacting to the video that people believe the referee denied Kotoko a third goal converted by Mudasiru, he claimed: “What of the dubious penalty the referee awarded them? One day there would be a gunshot at the stadium…”
Asante Kotoko gathered a victory that guided them to extend the lead on the league table to 40points with 10points intervals between the second and third-placed teams (Aduana Stars and Bechem United).
