Ex-Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has opened up on why he has an unfinished business with his former club, Asante Kotoko.
Born in Berekum, Brong-Ahafo, Badu began his career at local club Berlin F.C. before later signing for Berekum Arsenal.
The 31-year old ex-Ghana midfield controller left Berekum Arsenal to sign a year loan deal with Asante Kotoko before joining Italian-based Udinese after a short term with the Porcupines.
According to the former U-20 World Cup winner, he couldn’t finish his job with the Ghanaian giants, played a few games before leaving the shores to Europe and it is why he is willing to end his career with the Reds in his return to the local scene.
Speaking in an exclusive one on one interview with King Edward Akuffo on Atinka Tv, Agyemang Badu explained that; “I couldn’t play many games for Asante Kotoko before I left for Udinese just because of the U20 and Black Stars camping issues, because I was playing for both national teams and whenever I decide to go back to Kotoko camp one of these national teams will call us back. That is the reason why I couldn’t play a lot of games for Kotoko and it is why I keep on saying I have an unfinished business with them.” He revealed.
Agyemang Badu was linked to join Kotoko’s sworn rivals, Hearts of Oak last week following the expiration of his contract with Chinese-based Quingdao FC but the player has debunked the story.
