Asante Kotoko on Tuesday afternoon laboured to a goaless draw against Bechem United in their Premier League Week 19 away fixture.
Kotoko were the front runners going into the match following some scintillating performance in the ongoing GPL but their form didn’t translate into a win against the hosts as they laboured to share the spoils.
Bechem United began the game on a strong foot by pilling pressure on Asante Kotoko in the early stages, but Kotoko had Ibrahim Danlad to praise for not conceding in the entire duration with some great saves.
The Bechem-based side were denied a fine opportunity to take the lead on the 19th minutes when Ibrahim Danlad tipped Emmanuel Avornyo’s strong header over the post.
Kotoko’s poster boy, Mbella tried to show his striking prowess but the opponents did not allow him to extend his scoring streak.

Kotoko made a few changes towards the end of the game to bring bite and power upfront, but those changes had no significant impact on the game as the referee blew his whistle to end the game.
