After eight years, Sulley Muntari has touched the heart of Ghanaians to make a possible return to the Black Stars ahead of the Nigeria clash following his current performance at Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
The ex-UEFA Champions league winner has so far had a remarkable performance with the GPL giants despite his age.
The 37-year old midfielder registered his first goal in the GPL against WAFA after four games following last Friday’s victory over Asante Kotoko to lift the President’s Cup trophy.
In a response to calls for his Black Stars return, the veteran midfielder divulged, “Am pleased but the most important thing is Hearts of Oak now.” He said.
“I came in and I got the chance to play for them. Is a big team here. The guys are amazing, the coach and the staff also.
“Am very pleased to be here and also the fans are making things right. Am at home so is just a great joy to be here.” Sulley stated.
The former Sunderland star has not been part of Ghana’s national team since 2014 after the unsporting behavior at the camp of the Black Stars in Brazil during the World.
He has so far bagged 20 goals for the Black Stars out of 84 games.
