Renowned African comedian, Mark Angel has named Cristiano Ronaldo as the ‘Greatest Of All Time’ (G.O.A.T) in football history after bagging his 59th hat-trick on Saturday evening against Tottenham Hotspurs.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first Manchester United hat-trick in 14 years as Tottenham were defeated in a thrilling encounter at Old Trafford.
The brilliant Portuguese put United ahead twice before heading home the winner from Alex Telles’ corner nine minutes from time, the 807th goal of his career.
Tottenham twice responded to Ronaldo’s efforts, through a Harry Kane penalty and a Harry Maguire own goal.
But it was Ronaldo who had the final word, completing his first United treble since January 2008, in a 6-0 win over Newcastle.
The long-standing debate to who is the better one in the Lionel Messi-Cristiano Ronaldo rivalry keeps raging on, even though the two have accomplished everything there is. Not just the fans, but footballers and managers are just as split on who the ‘GOAT’ truly is.
After making another history with his 89th minute magic at Old Trafford, Nigerian comedian, Mark Angel named the Portuguese international as the Greatest Of All Time in a comment to the post of the ex-Real Madrid star.
GOAT (or G.O.A.T.) is an acronym which stands for ‘greatest of all time’. It is a tag which is reserved for the individual who is deemed to be the undisputed master of their sport.
As well as exceptional talent, in order to be considered the GOAT, the individual must also maintain a consistent high level of achievement.
Ronaldo, who was already the top goalscorer in men’s international soccer, broke the overall record by scoring his 59th career hat-trick in Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
The 37-year-old ended that game with 807 career goals to his name – two more than former record-holder Josef Bican.
