Asante Kotoko captain, Abdul Ganiu Ismail is hoping to play against suffering Techiman-based Eleven Wonders in a penultimate encounter on week 21.
The defender made the starting lineup for Bibiani Gold Stars on Sunday’s game but he was shockingly expelled after picking up a knock in a warm-up towards the game.
The veteran centre-back was replaced by ex-Bofoakwa defender, Andrews Kwadwo Appau to fight the visitors.
After a barren draw with Bechem United last Tuesday, the Porcupines thrashed Gold Stars by five goals to nil at home.
The trainer is hoping to feature Abdul Ganiu for Asante Kotoko in the penultimate encounter in their next GPL fixture to be held in Technical.
Updating the media on Ganiu’s fitness, Coach Ogum delivered; “Is not that bad, but then we taught it wise that we have to rest him because in the warm-up he complained and we taught it wise that we have an equally competent center-back in the person of Appau so we decided that we should rest him. Am not sure he will be away for a longer time. He will play in the next game.”
“Hopefully, he will play in the next game.” Coach Ogum stated.
Asante Kotoko are aiming for a win over Eleven Wonders to keep their hopes of winning the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title alive.
