The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana Onana has been involved in a nasty car crash that damaged three vehicles on the Douala-Yaounde highway.
According to footages and our finding the 25-year old Ajax shot stopper who was heading to Douala for Cameroon’s camp, from Yaounde had his car hit another and the entire face of the car got damaged.
Onana arrived the country on Monday evening via the Nsimalen Airport. The keeper was en route to Douala this morning before the unfortunate incident occured.
According to Valery Fotso Andre Onana’s vehicle was met on it’s track by a white Pick Up car that went completely off its lane.
“Onana is fine. We have had a conversation,” Fotso assured in a discussion with the kick442.com team.
This Pan African Sports News Agency understands Onana came off the incident unhurt and has continued his journey to camp though his car was badly damaged, just like the two other vehicles involved.
The former La Masia net minder is expected to train with the rest of the Cameroon team under the guidance of coach Rigobert Song this evening in Douala.
However, the Ajax keeper’s brother who was driving suffered some injuries and has been rushed to the hospital for proper examination.
Onana is one of three goalkeepers retained by coach Rigobert Song for the FIFA World cup winner takes it all tie this Friday and next Tuesday in Douala and Blida respectively.
Already capped 27 time for the Central African Nation, the Nkol Ngok native will be looking to quickly ready and take his country to the 2022 FIFA World Cup having been national number one between the sticks since 2018.
