Premier League trio, Dreams FC, Aduana Stars and Bechem United have booked their places in the quarter final stage of the 2022 MTN FA Cup competition after edging out their opponents in the round of 16 stage games between Friday and Sunday afternoon.
Four clubs got the job under way after on Saturday featuring Dreams FC who overcame Legon Cities on penalties after the regulation time ended 0-0. The ‘Still Believe’ side secured a quarter final birth after beating Legon Cities 4-2 on penalties on Saturday.
King Faisal also made the cut after securing a 2-4 win over Real Tamale United on Saturday. The premier league clubs continued to show class in the ‘Obia nye obia’ (translating as ‘nobody’s game’) competition When Bechem United brushed off lower tier side Kumawuman FC with a 4-2 victory on Sunday afternoon.
It was yet another all-premier league sides affair at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park, where hosts Aduana Stars edged out Berekum Chelsea by a lone goal courtesy Abdul Manaf Mudasiru. Five teams have made it to the quarter finals so far after recording victories at the Round 16 stage.
