Th Black Stars of Ghana have received positive developments as both Daniel-Kofi Kyereh and Felix Afena Ohene-Gyan have been cleared of all fitness concerns ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off second leg against Nigeria on Tuesday.

The two forwards were declared fully fit and joined the team of 26 players together with the technical team members and GFA Officials in the Ghana contingent that flew to Abuja on Monday morning.

Having been declared fully fit, the two talented strikers are expected to make coach Otto Addo’s starting XI that will face Super Eagles of Nigeria in the second leg of the FIFA World Cup play-off.

Afena Gyan, who made his international debut for Ghana in the first leg in Kumasi, was forced out of the game in the latter stages due to an injury, while Daniel-Kofi Kyereh failed to start the game to due to fitness issues which ruled him out of the Black Stars last training session ahead of the first leg.

Kyereh has been in good form for his club St. Pauli this season, and showed glimpses of excellence during the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon for Ghana. He is expected to feature prominently for Ghana in the game against Nigeria on Tuesday.

Ghana and Nigeria will battle it out for one of Africa’s five tickets for the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals to be staged in Qatar starting in November this year, and the game on Tuesday will decide who progresses.

The first leg ended 0-0 in Ghana, and Ghana must score in Abuja and avoid defeat to be able to edge Nigeria out and secure the ticket to Qatar.

The match kick off time has been scheduled for 17:00Hrs GMT.
