Kumasi Asante Kotoko were held to another draw following last week’s goalless draw with Eleven Wonders.
The league leaders drew 1-1 under the floodlights of Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi with Karela United.
The heavyweight battle saw the captain of the host, Abdul Ganiu going out after seeing a red card following a terrible challenge at the 27th minute.
This means Ganiu will miss the Ashanti Derby against King Faisal in week 23 at the same venue.
The away side took the opportunity to snatch a lead after Kelvin Andoh flipped a beautiful header on top of Kwame Baah at the 35th minute.
Later on, the Porcupines found themselves a leveller with a goal from the Cameroonian predator and the leading top scorer of the league, Etouga at latter part of the first half.
Coach Ogum maintained goalkeeper Baah in the post after making his first appearance against Eleven Wonders in their previous fixture. He also replaced Agyapong with Nettey whiles Agyemang came in for Appau in the starting lineup.
Upon all the glorious chances in the second half none of the two sides scored again to change the first half scoreline but battled out to a 1-1 stalemate.
A win for the visitors could have moved them up from the 9th position. Despite the draw, the Porcupines are still leading the table with 46 points. The draw gives the away side 30 points after week 22.
