The Black Maidens of Ghana recorded emphatic win over their Guinean counterparts in the third round first leg of the FIFA U-17 World Cup qualifier on Saturday evening.
The Maidens are in search for a ticket to the tournament which comes off in India in October this year, but would have to cross the two phases of the qualifiers in the third and fourth round.
In the first leg against Guinea on Saturday, Captain Georgina Ayisha Aoyem put the maidens in front in the 13th minute of the game to keep Ghana in control of the game.
Rasheeda Shahadu doubled the lead for Ghana with a 31st minute finish before Mariama Maltiti Iddi made it 3-0 for Ghana in the 59th minute.
Guinea pulled one back to reduce the deficit to 1-3, but none of the two sides could score anymore goals as the game ended 1-3 in favour of the Black Maidens.
The second leg has been scheduled for April 30 at the Cape Coast sports stadium.
