• Ghana will play Central African Republic, Angola, and Madagascar in Group E of the 2023 African Cup of the nations qualifiers.
Coach Didi Dramani has cautioned Ghanaian football-loving fans not to downplay the Black Stars’ opponents after the draw in South Africa.
The coach stated that every country is now working hard to revive their football to turn things around in the global competition.
Speaking about the teams Ghana to play in the AFCON qualifiers, coach Didi explained, “We shouldn’t underrate any team currently. Do you know that Angola’s Petro Atletico is in the Champions League? How many teams in the GPL are competing with them. If Hearts failed then it tells you that every country is reviving their football. Football has become something global currently. You cannot be in your zone to underrate the other teams.”
“Yes, sometimes names count but the name only is not enough. It should go with a purpose so what is important is knowing the team likely to compete with. I think that one is enough to give you justification for preparations but I don’t agree for you to underrate their names. I think everybody is putting their ideas together in terms of football development and every country is instituting the football structure arrangements to begin to do something comprehensively and I think that the other three countries are also doing same so you just have to come together, get full of challenges in terms of using that one as preparations for the future.
“The qualifiers allow you to see more players and the opportunity to do things in a certain way and then intentionally put things in the right ways.”
