Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu has claimed that the red card received by Accra Lions’ Abdul Rashid which caused Obeng Junior’s early substitution affected the game.
Rashid was sent off after he roughly brought down Hearts of Oak forward Kwadwo Obeng Junior at the 37th minute.
Obeng Junior failed to continue the game due after picking up a knock and he was stretched out of the game for Isaac Agyenim Boateng.
Agyenim Boateng jumped into the scoring shoes of Obeng Junior to grab the second goal in the second half but Samuel Boadu insists loosing Obeng Junior affected the team despite the win because he could have created more scoring chances.
Boadu was impressed by the performance of Obeng Junior before he was stretched out in the first half.
“The red card didn’t help both teams because we lost Obeng in the game. He was really working hard in the game and it was obvious he could have created more scoring chances.” Samuel Boadu claimed after the game.
The Rainbows have climbed into the fourth position with 40 points from the sixth position after week 26 victory. The are 12 points behind their noisy-rivals and the league leaders Asante Kotoko on the table.
