Suspended Ghanaian referee Kennedy Padi has called it a quit few days after he was slapped with a suspension by the Ghana Football Association, Kessben Sports have gathered.
The Ghana Football Association suspended referee Kennedy Padi for the rest of the season after the FA Review Panel found his penalty decision against Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana premier league matchday 24 with Asante Kotoko describing the penalty decision as a “serious error”

In the 14 minute of play, Referee Kenny Padi awarded a dubious penalty to Asante Kotoko when Hearts of Oak player, Nurudeen Abdul-Aziz won a 50 ball in their 18-yard box from Fabio Gama (No. 10) of Asante Kotoko.
REFEREE RESPONSE:
The referee insisted that the Hearts player stepped on the foot of the Kotoko player which he later agreed that there was no stepping of foot after watching the video. He then defended that there was a push and pull at a point, which the video clearly showed that it was not the case.

The Panel concluded that, per the video watched, and the referee’s defense is in contrast.Per the video watched the Panel holds the view that the referee erred in awarding the penalty. This error changed the outcome of the match.
Referee Kennedy Padi is however resolute that he took the right decision even after the verdict from the Match Review Panel’s assessment.
Retired Referee Owusu Mensah Kallah speaking on Kessben TV’s Midfield Action sports show with Joe Laka revealed that the suspended referee Kennedy Padi has told him that he is no longer going to continue to officiate games even after the suspension.
Kalla noted that Referee Kennedy is very much disappointed with the ruling of the Match Review Panel and confided in him that there is no need to continue even after the suspension.
