As part of their preparations for the WAFU U-20 Cup of nations tournament in Niger next month, the Ghana U-20 male national team, the Black Satellites will engage in three local friendly matches to wrap up their preparations for the tournament, the GFA has announced.
The Black Satellites will take on lower division sides Tema Youth, Euro Africa and Kpando Heart of Lions ahead of next month’s tournament, which will serve also as qualification for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
The first match will be against Division One side Tema Youth FC on Tuesday, April 26 at the Accra sports stadium, before taking on Euro Africa in the second match on Thursday, April 28 at the same venue.
Coach Karim Zito’s side will complete their preparations with the third match against Heart of Lions on May 3, 2022. Ghana, the defending champions of the tournament, have been drawn in Group A along side Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, the Young Stallions of Burkina Faso of the tournament which starts on May 7 and ends on May 20, 2022.
The finalists from this tournament will represent the WAFU Zone B at the 2023 CAF U-20 Cup of Nations slated for February 18 to March 12.
