Awaiting GPL champions, Asante Kotoko have suspended Patrick Asmah for the rest of the season over a gross misconduct.
It has been confirmed that Asmah have had verbal exchanges with Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, where he accused the club’s master tactician trainer of being unfair with his selection.
The ex-Atalanta defender came off the bench in the 73rd minute as a replacement for Ibrahim Imoro for his 10th Ghana Premier League appearance of the season. He has been ruled out from the team’s squad for 11 GPL match-days and warmed the bench in 5 league games.
The left-back has confirmed in a recent interview with Oyerepa FM that he has received a communique from the club that he has been suspended.
“Yes I have received a communiqué from the technical team that I have been suspended for the rest of the season.”
It is disclosed that this happened after Coach Prosper Ogum criticised Asmah in a post-match interview with Startimes for his tackle on Ronald Frimpong in the 18-yard box leading to a penalty for RTU in the GPL match-day 25 fixture, which Kotoko lost 2-1 in Tamale.
