Real Madrid have become champions of the 2021/2022 La Liga season after beating Catalan side RCD Espanyol by 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The White Angels needed just a draw with Espanyol to become champions of the league, but left no stone unturned as Rodrygo Goez, Asensio and Karim Benzema found the back of the net to make light work of the Catalan side.
There were two goals from Rodrygo and a goal each from Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema which confirmed Real’s 35th La Liga title.
Head coach Carlo Ancelotti has become the first manager to win the league in all five of Europe’s major leagues as he guided Real Madrid to beat Espanyol to become Spanish champions.
The focus is firmly turned to the Champions League where Real will host Manchester City in the second leg of the semi final, following a 4-3 defeat they suffered at the Ethihad stadium last Tuesday.
