Semi-retired Ghanaian footballer and the general captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan ended up in tears after disclosing a sad story in his career during his book launch on Saturday evening in Accra.
The leading top-scorer of the Black Stars and the World Cup record holder as Africa’s top-scorer in the history of the world’s prestigious tournament disclosed that Ghanaians coloured him as the most hated player in the history of the nation some years ago.
The former Sunderland skipper disclosed the secret in tears whiles having a conversation with Gary Al-Smith of Multimedia after the ‘LeGyandary’ book launch, saying “They told me I’m the most hated player in Ghanian history”.
