The latest transfer update reaching the Ghanaian football fraternity has it that La Liga side Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and Atalanta, both in the Italian Serie A have joined the race for the signature of the GPL top-scorer, Frank Etouga Mbella.
The Kumasi Asante Kotoko forward has been in splendid form since touching down in Ghana to play in the GPL. He has been the poster boy for the Reds in the current season, helping them to cement the lead on the Ghana Premier League table through his 18 goals.
The 20-year-old was on target on Saturday as he scored to seal a first-ever away victory at Sogakope over West Africa Football Academy during a week 27 fixture.
His striking prowess and performance this season have unmasked the interests of some European giants, including Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, and Bayer Leverkusen.
Etouga’s display may see him ending his contract shortly with the Ghanaian giants to make a move to Europe.
Having impressed Marseille and Saint Etienne, both Ligue 1 clubs in France, as well as Fernabache in Turkey, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Atalanta, and German side Bayer Leverkusen are the new clubs to join the race for the prolific striker, according to a close source.
The young attacker commenced his great job alongside his compatriot, Georges Mfegue last year in October.
He joined Kotoko on a free transfer, but he is currently worth around €850,000 to the club.
