Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has made a crucial injury return to hand his side a major boost ahead of the club’s premier league week 28 encounter with Aduana Stars in the coming weekend.
Lamptey has not featured for the Porcupine Warriors since March 31, when he started for Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara sports stadium against Karela United. The game ended 1-1 captain Abdul Ganiyu received a red card after bringing down Kelvin Andoh in a harsh tackle to reduce his side to 10 men.
Richmond Lamptey has since missed five (5) premier league games for Asante Kotoko, but has now returned for selection. He missed the games against King Faisal, Accra Hearts of Oak, RTU, Legon Cities and WAFA.
On Tuesday, May 3, Asante Kotoko took to social media to announce the return of the former Inter Allies midfielder – “Richmond is BACK!”, the club simply wrote on Twitter.
Asante Kotoko will host Aduana Stars in the match week 28 of the ongoing 2021/2022 premier league campaign this weekend, and it is expected that Lamptey will play a part in the game, returning to the turf for the first time since March 31.
