Retired Ghanaian refere, Thomas Nunoo has tasked the Ghana Football Association to deal with anyone who is found guilty in football betting.
Almost three seasons, the Ghana Premier League has not had a title sponsor and that has become a burden for Ghanaian football fraternity.
The news of match-fixing has also become the major topic as the GFA is fighting against.
During the latter days of the previous season, a game between Ashantigold SC and Inter Allies became a topic of match-fixing and the FA promised to investigate the issue.
Referee Thomas Nunoo speaking to Kumasi-based Otec FM said the GFA should jail anyone who is found guilty in the match-fixing.
“In our part of the world, when things happen, we don’t set an example for people to see how serious it is. The GFA should corporate with the security agencies and start jailing anyone who is found indulging in football betting” Rtd Ref. Thomas Nunoo told OTEC FM
He is also stated that he is in support with the GFA to reward for match-fixing informants- report.
“I’m in support of the GFA’s ¢50,000 reward to match fixing whistleblowers. People should be bold and report because things are getting out of hands” He added.
