Asante Kotoko skipper, Abdul Ganiyu, has made a return to training with the group as the team prepares for the premier league match week 28 match against Aduana Stars on Sunday.
Ganiyu has not played for Asante Kotoko since March 31 when he featured for his side against Karela United in a 1-1 drawn game at the Baba Yara sports stadium, in which he was eventually sent off for a harsh tackle on Kelvin Matthew Andoh. He later picked up injury at training and has since been out of action for the Porcupine Warriors.
Like Richmond Lamptey, Abdul Ganiyu has since missed five (5) premier league games for Asante Kotoko which include King Faisal, Accra Hearts of Oak, RTU, Legon Cities and WAFA.
However, both Lamptey and Ganiyu have returned to training ahead of the match against Aduana Stars on Sunday. Lamptey has returned for full training, but Ganiyu is just having his recovery training, and may not be available for selection for the game against Aduana Stars.
Meanwhile, midfield engine Justice Blay and left-back Ibrahim Imoro are still out with injury and will play no part in Sunday’s game.
Asante Kotoko currently lead the league log with 55 points, 9 points more than the second place Bechem United.
