Securing of passport and nationality switch of foreign-based players who are willing to represent Ghana at the FIFA World Cup has become the headline after Ghana booked ticketstoryhe mundial in Qatar following a cross-over against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.,
In a recent stories, it was reportedly stated that Chelsea’s Hudson Odoi, Eddie Nketiah of Arsenal and others have acquired a Ghanaian passport through the GFA.
According to the GFA’s general secretary, Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo, there has not been any project on the center table of the association concerning the passport issues of the players.
He further clarified that the Ghana Football Association does not acquire a passport and it is not allowed for them to interfere in passport granting.
Being questioned on the passport and the nationality switch rumours, Lawyer Harrison replied, “The FA does not talk about this area of work on public. You won’t hear anything until we are done.
“Anything you will hear is from the public space. They just planned and said it.
“Nobody heard anything about how we worked on Dennis Odoi’s nationality switch. It is the same thing when we are doing it for others. We have a very tedious process.”
“First of all nobody can sign a passport form for another person. When you hear about the government or the FA securing passport for some players put it aside. It is false.
“When you are in need of passport you do it yourself. You sign the form yourself. The FA does not do passport for a player.” He told Angel FM in Accra on Wednesday evening.
