Hearts of Oak poster boy, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh says being at the final is anything extraordinary to him as a player. Barnieh is eyeing another great achievement in his career when they play at the finals and will be happy to win the competition back-to-back.
The former U-20 AFCON winner has been involved in the finals of any tournament or competition he has played so far and has yet to lose a trophy.
He was on target yesterday when the defending champions of the MTN FA Cup claimed a 3-2 victory over Dreams FC on Saturday to reach the finals of this year’s edition.
He has achieved six trophies within two years for both country and club.
Barnieh led the Black Satellites to lift the WAFU Zone B tournament in 2020 and later on scored a brace to help Ghana win last year’s U-20 AFCON in Mauritania.
He returned home to help the Phobians lift the MTN FA Cup last season after they had declared the champions of the GPL before they were crowned the winners of the Super Cup.
Speaking after their victory over the ‘Still Believe’ side, he boasted, “It is great for me because if you’ve realized or like studied me I always go to final in every tournament that I involve myself. Being at the final at this time is not anything extraordinary but if I win the cup then I will say repeating or taking the cup back-to-back will be something different in my life.
“Going to the final is not anything extraordinary.”
Hearts will meet the winner of the game between Aduana Stars and Bechem United at the finals of the FA Cup.
