The captain of Ghana’s senior national soccer team, Andre Dede Ayew has arrived in Ghana for the Ivory Coast 2023 AFCON qualifier games against the Central African Republic and Madagascar in June.
The 32-year-old Al Sadd skipper was captured at the Nania Park in Legon on Wednesday as he witnessed his father’s team, Nania FC playing Eastern Regional-based side, Kwaebibirem United in the Division One League.
The Black Stars gaffer, Otto Addo, and his technical team are yet to release the squad that will go in for action but it is impossible that Andre Ayew will be excluded.
Ayew was out of Ghana’s World Cup playoffs qualifiers against the Super Eagles of Nigeria due to suspension during the AFCON.
The 32-year-old attacker who is seven games away from equaling Asamoah Gyan’s record of 109 caps for the Black Stars will return to take the captain’s arm-banned from Thomas Partey and lead the team to the World Cup and the AFCON 2023.
Ghana will take on Madagascar at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on June 1st, 2022, and play as visitors to the Central African Republic on June 5th.
