Interdicted GPL side, Obuasi Ashanti Gold Football Club have filed an appeal against the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee for demoting them to the Division Two League following an after being found guilty of match-fixing and betting scandal in their week 34 game against Inter Allies in July last year.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association announced their verdict on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 seeing Ashantigold and Inter Allies being demoted to the Division Two League whiles some players and other club officials were handed a ban for showing up.
A club notice this afternoon has confirmed that the GPL side is not pleased with the decision and has filed a notice of appeal against the decision to the Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee.
The club has also requested the Record of Proceedings/Record of Appeal of the Disciplinary Committee hearing and will upon receipt of same, file additional grounds of appeal.
