The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set Sunday, May 29, 2022 as the final date for the submission of names of participating teams in the 2022/23 CAF Women’s Champions League competition, the GFA has announced.
The Ghana Women’s Premier League final has been scheduled for Saturday, May 28, just a day before the deadline set by CAF, and the GFA have to ensure that the final is played before or on the set date so as to meet the deadline of the continent’s football governing body.
The Ghana Women’s Premier league record winners Hasaacas Ladies FC, having won the tile for four times, three times consecutively in the last three seasons, represented Ghana in the Champions League last season, after winning the WAFU Zone B qualifiers. They however lost the final in Egypt to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, but proved themselves a side to beat.
The Ghana Women’s Premier league final will be played on May 28, and the winner will be Ghana’s candidate in the 2022/23 CAF Women’s Champions League.
