Defending league champions Accra Hearts of Oak are set to resume training on Wednesday afternoon halting all training activities due to the outbreak of a strange illness in camp.
A strange illness broke out in the camp of the current league title holders few weeks ago, leaving about 19 players and some club officials affected.
As a result, the premier league match week 29 fixture against Eleven Wonders at Tachiman was was postponed indefinitely a day to the match, after the Ghana Health Service (GHS) advised that the strange illness in the camp of the Phobians in transferable, and may affect other players should the match be played.
On Friday, May 20, the players and officials of Accra Hearts of Oak underwent medical tests before the team’s departure to Tachiman. However, after the team’s arrival in Kumasi, they received the advice from the GHS calling for the postponement of the game due to the infectious nature of the illness.
Hearts of Oak have therefore not trained since Friday, but will resume on Wednesday at the Legon Park.
