Local Black Stars coach Annor Walker has submitted a total of 35 players to the Ghana Football Association today, 25th May 2022 ahead of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Algeria 2022 qualifiers.
The team has been in camp for some months now. Annor has invited five (5) players from Accra Hearts of Oak, four (4) Players from Asante Kotoko, and many others.
The defender Mohammed Alhassan, goalkeeper Richard Atta, forward Daniel Afriyie Barnie, midfielder Ibrahim Salifu and Seidu Suraj have all been named on the Annor Walker’s 35 man-squad.
Ghana has emerged as runner-up twice out of their three appearances at the CHAN tournament. The Local Black Stars came second at the 2009 African Nations Championship, and at the 2014 edition hosted in South Africa, Ghana reached the final again but lost in a penalty shoot-out to Libya.
Ghana will know its opponents in the 2022 African Nation Championship qualification round at the draw which will be held at CAF headquarters in Cairo tomorrow May 26, 2022.
Ghana missed out on the last edition held in Cameroon after leaving out the spot for Togo to qualify but Annor Walker aims to make amends to qualify the team for the upcoming edition.
