The Spanish giants are set to be on the lookout for a new defender to replace the outgoing Diego Carlos this summer.
Ghanasportspage.com is the first website to confirm that Daniel Amartey has popped up on the list of the Rojiblancos to replace the Brazilian defender.
The report indicates that Aston Villa has reached an agreement with Sevilla for the transfer of defender Diego Carlos for an undisclosed fee.
Carlos will travel to England to complete a medical and finalise personal terms later this week.
Carlos is set to become Villa’s second arrival of the summer after they announced on Monday the signing of midfielder Boubacar Kamara on a five-year deal ahead of the expiry of his contract at Marseille at the end of June.
Without a doubt, the Leicester City and Ghanaian defender would be the ideal defender to replace Diego Carlos at Sevilla.
Should Amartey who joined Premier League side Leicester City in 2016 agree with the La Liga side, he will play in the next season’s UEFA Champions League.
He signed three-and-a-half-year contract extension with the 2015 EPL champions in 2018.
Amartey’s initial contract expires next month and the Foxes are bent on keeping him for two more seasons and his current transfer value is between €1M and €2M.
