Heroes and legends took to the home venue of Abedi Pele’s Nania FC in Legon to line up in a friendly against the lads. The likes of former Black Stars playmakers, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Sulley Muntari, and Rahim Ayew were on the show together with the current captain Andre Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Afriyie Acquah, and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Attah.

MUBARAK WAKASO

The competition also saw the junior brother of Mubarak Wakaso (Alhassan Wakaso) and also the senior brother of Sulley Muntari (Nuru Sulley).

RICHMOND BOAKYE YIADOM

The likes of Hearts of captain, Fatawu Mohammed, Larry Ibrahim Sumaila, and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh climbed from the bench in the second half.

Sulley Muntari gave the Professionals a lead with a classic curler from a free-kick spot but the lads came from behind to ease past the legends by a 2-1 scoreline courtesy of Abdul Karim Issaka and Sumaila Lipowadi in the first half.

The captain of the Black Stars had a scintillating display in the second half as he turned the face of the game with his brilliant brace to snatch a 3-2 victory.

Andre Ayew is expected to lead the Black Stars on 1st June against Madagascar in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before their away fixture against the Central African Republic on 5th June.

Mubarak Wakaso has also returned to the national team after recovering from injury. His performance in the game was superb and looks like fully fit for the upcoming fixtures.
