Ampem Darkoa Ladies have booked a ticket for the next edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League after beating Hasaacas Ladies at the finals of the 2021/22 Ghana Women’s Premier League.
It was a very eventful season in the Ghana Women’s Premier League, a campaign that saw both Northern and Southern Zones with two clubs reaching the finals.
After several weeks of neck racking battles on the turf in both the Northern and the Southern Zones, the two giants emerged as winners of their respective zones.
Hasaacas Ladies lost to their rivals by a 5-3 scoreline on penalty shootout after they were held to a 1-1 draw in the entire game duration plus thirty additional minutes at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The former champions, Hasaacas took the lead at the 18th minute from the spot kick courtesy of Success Ameyaa who was absolutely brilliant for the team this season but the Techiman-based side also had the equalizer from the spot kick, calmly converted by Comfort Yeboah on the 25th minute.
The victory means Ampem Darkoa will represent Ghana at the second edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.
The sworn-rivals battled for the title last season but Hasaacas Ladies won the ultimate to represent Ghana in Africa after a 4-0 win.
