Asante Kotoko is planning to experience another magical moment as the club is set to celebrate its 25th league title.
The stadium is expected to welcome thousands of supporters for the celebration of the league and to show their appreciation after their last game of the GPL against Elmina Sharks.
The Reds have enjoyed a great and productive campaign in 2021-22, clinching their 25th league title after a 1-1 draw with Ashantigold on Thursday at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in their week 29 outstanding fixture.
The team has revealed that they will celebrate and honor the club at their match venue, Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 12th, 2022 – a week after the game against Elmina Sharks – and will get underway at 6:00 PM.
Spokesperson, David Obeng Nyarko on behalf of the club has provided the details on Accra-based Original 91.9FM on Friday morning.
“The FA has served us a letter indicating the coronation will come on 12th June so we have some time from now to the last game. We are negotiating with event planners and other interested stakeholders to make sure that we will have a memorable event. The event will be at exactly 6:00 PM.
“The lighting works and the fire carcass will be very attractive. We will urge everyone to come so that we can honor the team.”
“It will be held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
“We will do floating after the Super Cup against the winner of the FA because you can do floating with the two trophies when you win two trophies.”
“Let’s finish the season before we can talk about floating.” Obeng Nyarko stated as quoted by Ghanasportspage.com.
As stated by the Ghana Football Association, the champions will receive the league title as medals after their last but one game against already relegated Elmina Sharks at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in front of their loyal supporters before wrapping the season against Accra Lions in Accra.
