Here, we try to bring you the match preview of the Ghana Premier League week 32 clash between Kumasi King Faisal and Hearts of Oak.
The ‘Inshallah’ boys will host the title holders under the floodlights of Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi this Sunday on week 32.
Hearts Oak’s title defense hope was turned down last afternoon after their bitterest-rivals Kotoko drew 1-1 with Ashantigold in Obuasi to clinch a historic 25th title of the Ghanaian top-flight league.
On Sunday, a win for the Rainbows in Kumasi could see them leapfrog two sides to go second but King Faisal are also aiming for a positive result to prevent a drop to the relegation zone.
Going into the game, King Faisal have no losses in their last three games; they won one and drew two of those games. However, King Faisal have just one win in their last 12 games, one in the FA Cup and 11 in the GPL; they drew four times and lost seven times in that 12 game stretch. In contrast, Hearts of Oak have enjoyed some fine form lately; they have no losses in their last eight games in all competitions, with five wins and three draws. Additionally, Hearts of Oak have had King Faisal’s number in recent years; they’ve won all of the last three clashes between these two, and have no losses in their last seven encounters.
This fixture promises to be an exciting game, although both teams are not technically high-scoring teams, they’ve both scored and conceded a lot of goals recently. King Faisal found the net in all of their last six games, whilst keeping just one clean sheet in their last 17 games. Similarly, Hearts of Oak scored in all of their last eight games; they have seen their defence breached in four of their last five games. Both teams scored in five of King Faisal’s last six, and four of Hearts of Oak’s last five games.
Alhaji Grusah’s side who started with a good form during the first round have not exactly enjoyed their best Premier League campaign so far in the second round whiles sitting 13th on the table, with just 10 wins in 31 league games this season. As a matter of fact, King Faisal managed just one win in their last 12 games across all competitions; they’ll hope to improve their poor form by beating Hearts of Oak on Sunday, meanwhile Hearts of Oak have been one of the best teams in Ghana this season; they are fourth on the league table, just two points behind second-placed Bechem United. Hearts of Oak have no losses in their last eight games; they’ll look to extend that run as they visit the Baba Yara Stadium.
