Asante Kotoko forward Stephen Amankona has replied the fans of the GPL winners that he is fully fit to play but yet to know why he has been sidelined in most of their matches. The forward has not featured for the Reds in their last two games and also struggling for enough playing time.He has played only twelve (12) games for the league leaders this season in the Ghana Premier League. However, the player believes to be fit for their subsequent games but no place to occupy in Ogum’s selection.Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors boss in his recent post match remarks shed light on why the forward is not getting playing time amid injuries to other players.Ogum insisted that the 23-year-old player will not play for the club until he improves his performance.Despite injuries to Dickson Afoakwa, Clinton Opoku and Isaac Oppong, Amankona has struggled with game time as Ogum rather prefers to use makeshift players.Amankona expresses worries over his current situation at the club and confirmed to Ghanasportspage.com that he has no injury as fans may perceive.”I have no injury although I had a problem with my neck but it is okay for now. I twisted it during a match but I am okay and I’ve been training with it. Everything is fine. I am fully fit.”It wasn’t any serious injury but it was only my neck. I am okay for now”, he clarified.Amankona will miss today’s fixture against Accra Great Olympics on week 32. However, the Porcupines have already clinched the title after they avoided a defeat to secure a 1-1 draw with Ashantigold on Thursday in Obuasi.
