The Black Satellites of Ghana won their first match against Saudi Arabia in France at the ongoing Maurice Revello Tournament (MRT) after losing their their first three matches in the tournament, and striker Isaac Mensah has attributed the victory to an improved performance on the day.

After losing to Mexico, Indonesia by a goal each and to Venezuela on penalties 4-2 after a 1-1 draw, the Black Satellites managed to defeat Saudi Arabia on Wednesday afternoon by 2-1, thanks to goals from Isaac Mensah and Samari Salifu.

Hearts of Oak’s forward Isaac Mensah, who scored Ghana’s first goal against Saudi Arabia was asked after the game what did the work for Ghana, and he ascribed the victory to hard work on the part of the team.

“This game was a very good game for us. We trained very hard in our last training and in our last game I hope we will be able to improve”, Isaac Mensah told reporters after the game on Wednesday.

Asked what made the difference for Ghana against Saudi Arabia, Mensah pointed to hard work.

“We worked hard today, that’s the difference, we worked hard today that’s why we won our game today”, he explained.
