Asante Kotoko will return to continental football and that will be the 2022/23 CAF Champions League. The Reds once mesmerized the continent in CAF’s most prestigious club competition which they won in 1983.
The Porcupine Warriors on Thursday 2nd June, 2022 drew one all against Ashantigold SC to emerge champions of the 2021/22 season and secure the ticket for the CAF inter-club competition.
Ahead of the campaign, Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama has disclosed there’s nothing special in Africa and Kotoko can go all out to wipe Hearts of Oak’s abysmal performance. He told Otec FM.
“I believe we can go to Africa and do well, you could see that there’s nothing too special in Africa. Though the last Ghanaian clubs didn’t do too well but we can go and improve on that and do well.”
After playing for several clubs in Brazil, in November 2020, Gama was signed by Ghanaian club Asante Kotoko as they looked to bolster their club ahead of the 2020/2021 season and raise their chances in the continental cup.
