Kumasi Asante Kotoko have officially been presented with the Ghana Premier League trophy after their 3-0 win over Elmina Sharks during the coronation match on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors secured the title about a week ago when they drew 1-1 at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium against Ashanti Gold Sporting Club, and have now been presented with the league trophy ahead of the last match of the season.
Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum guided the Kumasi based club to their 24th league, and first major trophy in his coaching career.
Imoro Ibrahim scored from a free kick to give Asante Kotoko the lead against Elmina Sharks, and Cameroonian forward George Mfegue pounced later with a double to make it 3-0 for a comfortable night for the Reds.
The champions, Asante Kotoko will now be Ghana’s representative in the CAF Champions League for the 2022/2023 season.
