Head coach for Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Joe Nana Darkwa after beating Hasaacas Ladies back-to-back to win the Women’s Premier League and the MTN FA Cup will lead the team to participate in the WAFU Zone B Women’s Championship to seek for qualification into the second edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The Ghana Women’s Premier League title winners, beat Hasaacas Ladies 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to win the 2021/2022 Women’s FA Cup final in Kumasi on Sunday before the GPL coronation game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Elmina Sharks.
They had the win with Comfort Yeboah’s penalty early in the first half as they clinched their second trophy this season while doing the double over Hasaacas Ladies.
According to Coach Darkwa the team is looking to storm Africa but will be expecting the President of the Republic and his Vice, and other opinion leaders to support them ahead of their journey to Africa.
“As Hasaacas Ladies had supports from the president, from the vice president when they were going to Africa last season, we are also expecting that. God willing we will present the trophy to them on 22nd June before going to Dormaa Hene to seek for his support before going to the Africa. We have the men at the back to support us,” He stated on Original 91.9 FM.
The WAFU Zone B qualifying series comprises six teams split into two groups of three teams each, with the group winners progressing to the main tournament.
Meanwhile the team will soon start their campaign to raise funds for the team’s participation in the competition.
