Former Ghanaian international and Hearts of Oak great Sammy Adjei continues to attract reviews from football fans and administrators following his sterling performance on Saturday evening at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Sammy was in posts for African Legends XI who drew 2-2 with German side Dortmund XI. He drew large applause from spectators at the stadium with great saves, kicks, anticipation, movement, and initiated moves that kept his team in the game.
Sammy Adjei is the head of the goalkeeper’s department at Kenpong Football Academy and has been in charge of the five goalkeepers currently at the academy. The Academy topped the just-ended Central Region Zonal league and thus qualified for the upcoming Middle League, with the club conceding very few goals. Sammy continues to coach and train young talents who will soon explode into the football industry.
The performance of Sammy Adjei reminded fans of his days of glory when he led hearts of oak to the champions league trophy and also brought back memories of his heroic days with the Black Stars of Ghana.
