Former Division One League Board Chairman, Lawyer Ntow Fianko has exposed the football leaders in the Brong Ahafo Region for their dubious act towards the former vice president of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie during the last GFA general elections in 2020.
According to the ex-Division One League gaffer, most of the leaders in the diaspora deceived George Afriyie by collecting money and just voting against him.
Lawyer Ntow claims George Afriyie was stabbed in the back by the people from the aforementioned region who intentionally planned to betray him after they had approached him for ‘cash’.
Ghanasportspage.com have chanced on the audio of Lawyer Ntow which has revealed how the delegates deceived the former GFA veep in the region to vote for Kurt Okraku.
“In Brong Ahafo if those who voted will be very sincere to themselves, most of them voted for the current administration. I can tell them the truth. They didn’t vote for George Afriyie. I swear my dead father’s coffin they collected money and voted against him. I know what am saying.
“The assurance they gave to George Afriyie is not what they did. Most of them voted against him.
“You voted for someone and things are not going on well then why will you talk and whom do you expect to be blamed? I don’t have evidence but I have some things to put together. The late Yakubu told us that he will vote for us if only we give him $2000. He should Rest In Peace,” he said on Nimde3 FM in Sunyani.
George Afriyie was appointed as Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in November 2015. He served under Kwesi Nyantakyi who was the President of the Ghanaian football regulatory body from 30 December 2005 until 7 June 2018.
He contested for the chairmanship position in the previous election but conceded a slim defeat to the current FA boss, Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku.
